I still absolutely love living in London, although I am SO ready for some some sunshine and warmth. February- March is always the hardest for me. You’re well past the holidays but slowing inching towards spring which feels pretty far off. I couldn’t be more ready to head to Cabo San Lucas later on this month for one of my best friend’s weddings & pit stop in Laguna Beach for a mini reunion with my mom before the #FiestaBounds festivities begin.
With “Resort” season basically here, I’ve been scouring the internet and stopping in Selfridges weekly to add a little bit of sunshine to these cold, rainy winter days. A lot of Resort Collections have dropped (you’ll find my new favs below) but I’ve also been taking advantage of the sale selections to get a little more for my $$ and found some amazing pieces form my fav brands (LSF, RHODE, ZIMMERMAN, etc) that I would have never bought full price.
If you’re heading to a destination wedding, booked yourself a much needed get away, or just looking for the wardrobe to inspire your next move, I’ve pulled my latest “Resort Wear” selects to help you on your hunt and a detailed list of destination recs to inspire your next trip!
I think everyone needs a good black swimsuit just to have on hand for tanning and style effortlessly with your favorite gold jewellery. Hunza G is still my top brand for “classic” suits. I have about 5 of these, not lying, and they’re just so easy to throw on, tan, hang up and dry. For more elaborate swimwear, ZIMMERMAN has really stood out to me this season. It’s a splurge for sure but after doing a try on haul, I found two that I love and they couldn’t be more flattering. Beyond these two, I really love ONIA by WeWOREWhat. I wore here marigold suit for my friend’s bachelorette, and just bough a new set (linked in RESORT below)
I keep it pretty simple in the cover up category. I just ordered this white linen wrap dress on sale 60% off! I love the look of white with a sunhat gold jewelry to let the swimsuit stand out. Otherwise, This LoveShackFancy white dress (On Sale) is super cute and transitional for beach to lunch too. And I’ve linked a few others for more of a full look
Come summertime I live in a sundress. I’m so over jeans right now so in wishful thinking I’ve ordered a few new flowy beauties. This Rhode Dress is on sale absolutely gorgeous for Holiday. Brides — go for the white. Everyone else THIS GREEN or THIS BLUE both stunning, and again great with layered necklaces andon sale 50% off! Other brands I love are Hemant and Nandita. They have so many stand out dresses great for vacation but also for wedding guest outfits! LoveShackFancy is always great for flowy feminine picks.
For the wedding rehearsal dinner, I’ve just splurged for these metallic platform sandals to go with my LoveShackFancy dress. Beach/Resort wise, ancient greek is always a good brand. I have these delicate simple sandals and just ordered THESE on sale 70% off (US site only). These white sandals are my top pick for an all around good spring sandal. The heel is a good height, I love how delicate and scrappy they are, and they’re great for events but also everyday life.
I’m on a big jewelry kick at the moment. I’ve talked myself into getting a double piecing this weekend (stay tuned… not the biggest fan of needles but going for boozy brunch with my girls before!) For me there is nothing prettier than layered dainty jewelry in the summertime or on vacation. Something about that boho chic look feels so gorgeous I’ve linked lots of favs (including shells which are big this year) below. If you’re looking for real gold, and invetsmentmens but not too insane of a price I also absolutely love By Charlotte. It’s my favorite jewelry brand at the moment that I discovered in Australia. I wear their diamond ring, gold bracelet, and diamond necklace daily and just did another big haul to extend my stack!
No matter the destination I’ve always got a hat and suncreen on hand. I just bought this lack of color hat for Cabo and stand by my Cuyana Summer hat that Ive had for 5+ years. St. Tropez is still my go-to self tanner. I find it not orange at all and have been loving their 3-hour express. It’s what I used for Las Vegas if you saw the pictures on Instagram.
Because travel is one of the best parts of life for me I’ve also done a little roundup of resort destination inspo! It may be too soon to book something for March but these are a few bucket list places I’ve been wanting to go to or places I’ve been to and 10/10 recommend for a warm weather getaway
HOTEL ROCHES ROUGE
This has been on my travel buck list since moving to the UK. I’ve yet to properly visit the south of France, and something about the rocks meeting to coast and simplistic clean vibe seems idyllic. Summers always book out and it’s a bit pricey, but grab your man or girls and escape or a little 3-night warm getaway
Cabo San Lucas
It’s so funny to me because coming from Texas I grew up going to Cabo for spring break since I was little. All of a sudden Cabo is back on the map as one of the new “it” places celebs are escaping off to. I love the montage Hotel group — I’ve stayed at Montage Laguna Beach, Beverly Hills, Deer Valley, and Palmetto Bluff…. And they’ve just opened up a new Montage Cabo that looks just as beautiful as the rest. For the wedding, we’re staying at the new Solaz resort — I’ll report back and let you guys know how it is!
Quinta De Comporta
I came here for a look book shoot with one of my LALO digital clients PAMA London back in July and everything about the resort was beautiful. You feel the “Wellness” element from the second you arrive, the pool juxtaposed against the rice fields is so beautiful, and the beaches 10 minutes from the hotel are my favorite that I’ve been to in Europe. Great for couples, wellness, or girls trip, and the prices are quite reasonable for the experience and caliber of rooms.
LA GRANJA IBIZA
This is one of my bucket list destinations! I heard about it through Pauline the founder of PAMA, it’s one of the potential destinations we’ll be shooting our next lookbook. Everything from the farm vibe to the pool, to the earth aesthetic looks heavenly! Definitely need to go here over the summer if I don’t make it for work before then!
This is one of those if you know then you already know to go here. But come bank holidays this is my all time favorite city escape as soon as the weather gets nice! Come warm days they have a rosé truck, their big pool, and perfect lounge chairs out on the lawn. Non members are supposedly allowed Monday-Thursday, I’ve only been with friends who are members, but I recommend booking 4-5 months out to get the prime dates you want!
Borgo Pignano Tuscany
Italy is a bit of a tricky topic right now as everyone is avoiding with the latest updates of Coronovirus, but Borgo Pignano in Tuscany was absolutely beautiful! I went here on a LALO Digital press trip last August with Hannah Strafford Taylor and the property was absolutely beautiful. The pool is gorgeous, the scenery quite tranquil. It’s only an hour or so from Florence (my Favorite main city in Italy!) So worth piggy bagging onto the trip if you’ve never been so just going here for a weekend if you need a nice city escape.
