Labor Day Weekend Swimsuits

At the start of summer I shared a very extensive swimsuit guide (READ HERE!), but with summer in full swing and Labor Day weekend ahead I wanted to share some of my favorite swimsuits styles to send summer off on a high note!

THE HIGH-WAISTED

This year, we’ve seen an abundance of high-waisted styles. To be honest, I was a bit skeptical about getting on board with the trend at first. But after giving it a chance, and trying on Lord knows how many swimsuits, this For Love and Lemons suit changed my mind. It’s a refreshing change of pace from the barely-there bikini bottoms I’m used to seeing everywhere. I don’t know about you, but I have a booty and this style felt much more vacation appropriate than a cheeky thong swimsuit. This pattern in particular is perfect for summer and the coverage + one shoulder makes it great for tanning + enjoying some summer swimming or water activities. I wore it for our Catamaran day in Santorini (More about that HERE) & am bringing it to the Lake for Labor Day weekend!

THE BASIC BANDEAU

Another big style popping up in summer swimwear is the basic bandeau swimsuit. There’s some differentiation out there from button up styles to silhouettes with front ties, but basically you get the idea — anything “tube top” is in. As much as I love colored suits, especially with a summer tan, my black suits ALWAYS get the most wear. This black bandeau was easily one of my favorites from Greece. Its comfy, doesn’t leave weird tan lines, and paired with denim shorts or a high-waisted coverup, doubles as a little beach top. As far as accessories go, scarf headbands are an easy summer trend! They keep your hair back on a sweaty summer day and look great with gold jewelry and hoops if you want to amp up the accessories.

THE FRONT-TIE TOP

Front tie tops are probably one of the most flattering swim trends I’ve seen this summer. Plus the strapless styles are a no-brainer choice for tanning. I LOVED this Beach Riot Top and bottom set that I wore on repeat in Mykonos. Something about this brand is always really flattering and comfortable. Compared to most mid-tier swimsuits, it’s not too crazy of a price point, but I linked some other options that caught my eye too!
