London Life Update

It’s been a sec since I’ve done a London life update and since I’ve had SO much going on lately I feel like this is way overdue! For starters, I’m still loving this city more than ever. I always say it but moving here was by far the best decision I have ever made. The vibe of the city is still unbeatable. There’s so much to do, all the cute cliches, and especially now that it’s spring everything is beyond beautiful! Since moving here so many doors have opened — Things in my personal life, things with blogging, friends, faith…. it’s been an incredible year of growth, I can’t even imagine where I’d be had I not moved here.

I wrapped up my fashion journalism program back in January. (For those of you who are unfamiliar, I moved here for Grad School at London College of Fashion) Since then it’s been a whirlwind 6 months! Earlier this year I took on London and Paris Fashion Week, recently flew to Bordeaux and Biarritz for a Press trip with Jimmy Fairly, headed to the Cotswolds for Bank Holiday weekend, and are now currently 35,000 feet up en route to the Maldives! (All on Instagram Highlights!)  It goes without saying moving here has been an experience of a lifetime!

In addition to everything else going on, the blog is still a top priority for me! Yes life gets a bit busy at times and I may have some early mornings and late nights to balance everything, but I love being able to build a business based around my love of travel and fashion so expect lots more from Erie Nick too!

I hit the ground running ever since I moved here and I’m hoping the traveling doesn’t let up anytime soon! The Cotswolds and Zermatt were the perfect way to kick off the New Year, followed by a beautiful trip to Malta (Travel Guide coming soon!).

After all these years, I’ve managed to stay really close with my college “little”. In March she came to visit me and we ate our way through Positano! Then later that month my friends and I enjoyed a Countryside spa weekend at Cliveden House. (AKA the hotel where Meghan Markle stayed before her wedding!) It’s only a 30 minute train ride from London but feels like worlds away. 100% recommend it for anyone based in London.

Since then I’ve been playing tour guide in my own city and most recently got to escape off to the French Wine country for a chateau + wine filled weekend! (Guide Here!). I’m still counting my blessings and feel so grateful for every single day. Moving here I hoped for travel and “time to do me” but had no idea the incredible experiences this move would bring!  For travel recs I’ve added a few new guides and packing lists + lots of insta-stories highlights with geotags for reference.

God definitely answered some prayers when he gave me my friends. I couldn’t be more grateful to be living in London, but my friends are easily one of the top reasons I love life here so much! Little love letter to my roomies for being the best duo in the world and my London girls who make life SO fun. I so believe people are in your life exactly when they need to be, and right now I feel pretty lucky to be surrounded by so many genuine great people who I love 🙂

My faith has been one of the biggest areas of growth since moving here. For the longest time I was nervous to publicly talk about it, mostly because I’m a human who falls short and didn’t ever want to come off as a holier than though person. But if anything my time in London has shown me how good God is and how a life seeking him is SO worth living. I’ve been adding verses to Instagram frequently and added “Faith” to my blog, but because I always want it natural and never want to force or preach anything, those posts will come when they come!

SO what’s up next? Besides the Maldives in T-6 hours! I’m really excited to enjoy summer in London and head to Greece with my childhood friends this July! My visa ends in August and while I’d LOVE to stay in London at least one more year, I’m soaking in every second and seeing where this dream journey leads me. Thanks for follow along and being a part of it, I’m so grateful to be able to have this outlet and be doing exactly what I love!

UPDATE!!** After coming back from the Maldives I was detained at the border for “working too much” SO change of plans, but kind of best case scenario?! I’ll be flying to LA on Friday, get to see all of my friends, then head to the Caribbean with my family for a week, before returning back to London on a new visa in July! So many logistics, so many tedious procedures, but at the end of the day completely worth it to be living out this dream of mine!
