I first met Mr. Holmes and their insanely delicious pastries on a trip to San Francisco. So once their newest addition opened in LA I knew I needed to plan a visit. Known for their “I got baked” slogan and even more famous for their addicting cruffins, it’s an ideal space to grab a coffee, indulge in a carb, snap and insta, and get some work done.

Before I even get started on the “cruffins” and carbs, let’s discuss this photo-worthy space. It seems like every new hot spot in LA has nailed the “Instagram-ability” factor and Mr. Holmes is no exception. I mean, the neon sign speaks for itself juxtaposed against the crisp industrial interior. If you have the time, which hopefully you do, grab a seat against the window, kick your feet up on the gold detailed stools and let yourself indulge. It might be a little further than your typical West Hollywood scene, but even more reason to enjoy this white, pink, gold, and green change of scenery. (Even the bathrooms have all the details, but I’ll let you discover this one on your own!)

If you’re making the trek it’s mandatory to go all out. I went after a pilates class to counterbalance the gluten guilt, but Mr. Holmes pastries are worth every bite! If you’re a newbie, you must order a “cruffin” — the perfect mix between a croissant and a muffin baked daily to produce the most delicious, unique flavor. If you’re a latte lover like me, a classic, chocolate or matcha croissant will never steer you wrong. Mr. Holmes’ team does a great job of explaining the characteristics of each of their carbs, so prepare yourself and come hungry because you might leave with a whole box!

For such a fun setting, of course I wanted a little pop of color. I’ve pretty much put away all of my darker hues and am making way for brighter palettes now that it’s officially spring! The weather is still a bit chilly and calls for some light layering, but thanks to staples like this colorful Rebecca Taylor pullover, I’m staying warm while feeling fashionably appropriate for spring!

I’ve featured it here and it’s the star of my latest blog post: Three Essential Handbags for spring, but I truly cannot get enough of this white Clare V Bag. It was one of those pieces that I saw in a store window, and after a month of convincing myself I didn’t need it, I kept finding myself wishing I had it after putting countless outfits together. Needless to say, here we are. I cracked under pressure and $345 later I have no regrets. It pairs perfectly with just about every springtime look I’ve curated this far and the chic circle style and classic white texture are exactly what I was missing in my wardrobe for spring.

What’s your go-to indulgence for spring?! If you’re on the hunt for crave-able carbs, Mr. Holmes now has locations in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Orange County. And if you’re looking for a way to brighten up your closet during these chillier spring days, this Rebecca Taylor sweater is on sale 60% off!! Linking it along with a few other springtime sweaters below!

I’ve been obsessed with this place for ages! It’s my #1 thing to do next time I visit California. The sweets are mouthwatering!
