If you don’t already know this about me, I love a good high waisted pant. It’s one of my favorite staples to wear to work, conferences, events, or dinners that can also transition into every day life. Normally I stick with a tailored skinny leg, but have been embracing this season’s culottes and quickly fell for the fuller flare. This style of pant can easily be paired with a chunky sweater + ankle bootie for fall, a tailored floral blouse for work, or even just a sleeveless turtle neck sweater or basic cropped top like the one I wore during New York Fashion Week. They’re super comfy for having such a polished and put together appearance which is another reason why I turn to them so frequently.

Another staple I’ve been relying on even more than I had planned is this Loeffler Randall backpack. I try to bring my camera with me as often as possible, but it’s quite bulky and I’ve never really cared for the tech-y look of most camera bags. I purchased this leather backpack after being on the hunt for a camera bag for months and it has been the perfect size to fit my Canon 6d + the usual daily essentials. Even better, I wear it quite regularly camera in tote or not!  It’s a nice change from the cross body bags and totes I’m used to wearing, and the chic, classic leather allows it to be quite versatile for serval outfits.

Last on my list for standout staples is the modern mule. If you’ve seen this post or this post you’d know this pair of shoes has become my go-to shoe of the season. They’re super easy to slip on, classic enough to pair with just about any look, and are really comfortable for an everyday shoe. If you haven’t been able to track down a pair of this season’s must have Gucci Loafers, save your splurge for a pair of Stuart Weitzman boots and go for this almost identical look-a-like thats only $50! If your heart is still set or you’re adding the Gucci princetown mule slipper to your Holiday wish list, I’d try Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales, or Nordstrom. There are still a variety of colors available and I know many retailers are still adding names to the pre-order lists!

Looking back, this post definitely makes me miss so many things about the character and urban lifestyle of NYC but I’m so excited to head back to Dallas tomorrow and travel to the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee for a little mother/ daughter getaway! This backpack and these loafers will definitely be coming with… stay tuned!

xx Erica

I LOVE this look! I’m fairly convinced I need this LR backpack (justifying it with carrying my camera, of course 🙂

Thank you so much, Sarah I wear it all the time! I originally purchased it as a camera bag for fashion week and now wear it on repeat all the time, camera in tote or not! You’ll love it! xx Erica
