Location: LACMA // Oct 12, 2015
Although I’ve lived in LA for several years now, I still can’t resist a visit to the Urban Lights exhibit at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, the LACMA is a must see, showcasing over 120,00 objects from antiquity to present, including one of my favorites: the Urban Lights. There’s a playful nostalgia to dressing up and weaving in and out of the vast lamp posts preserved from the 1920’s & 30’s. Even if you aren’t feeling artsy, the museum grounds are home to several bars and restaurants and even the occasional band, making for an enjoyable evening.
My love of a good day-to-day adventure lies parallel with my love of florals; spring, summer, fall, or winter I’ll always find a way to incorporate them into my wardrobe. This Rebecca Taylor dress is a great transitional piece to go from one season to another. (Similar here, here, here, here, here, here). The deep toned florals bring out an autumn essence, while the white undertones maintain a drop of summer.
Being that LA keeps holding on to summer temperatures, I styled this look with this Kate Spade scalloped clutch in white, however you can easily swap the clutch color depending on the season and your location.
To beat the heat, I treated my face with a nice layer of Fresh SPF moisturizer and added my favorite Dior So Real Sunnies. I pulled the Rock Stud Valentino’s back out to keep things from being too matchey-matchey, and of course put the final touch on the look with a smile!
